A lifeless me has found a source of hope –

Having spent most part of my life in shambles,

Beaming in reefers and diving into depression.

I was bent on carving my empire in a mud

A kingdom where I rallied in darkness,

Myopic – even with my contact lens fastened

Until I broke loose of mental slavery!

Oh my! What a rebirth.

The agony swimming in my bones —

It has inoculated.

The menace that runs through my bones

A glory ahead I envision.

Like a bird out of the cage, now I sing

As the freedom preached by Mandela embraced me.

Beaming in reefers and diving into depression.Shall I tell you my tale?

The highest I dreamt was to be a street urchin.

Never even had something to call a dream

Rogue in my ghetto, famous pimp

And, a well acclaimed mule.

Suddenly, I was struck with thoughts like thunderclap

Of questions to answer my future generations

So, I began to draw my plan of action.

Now that I know better,

My beginning to greatness drive just began!
